"Maart Baanders has a unique way of shaping that what touches and moves her. The fruit in a bowl, the reflection of the light that comes from a bottle in the windowsill. Size and proportion, the cosmos, the (industrial) landscape, a (tangible) memory. Baanders uses in her wall sculptures scenical elements.
The combination of color, texture and material make her work feel both sensitive and poetic. The color, lines, dimensions and the use of material come together in an expression that can be at times suggestive. The composition in her wall sculptures is sometimes distinct, at other times indefinable as to form, but they are always recognizable."
